Captured during a quiet spring rain, “Awakening” reveals the delicate strength of new life emerging from the forest floor.
Using two Amaran Ace 25c lights with honeycomb grids, I shaped the light to reveal every tiny texture of this bud nestled in moss. The scene was shot outdoors in the rain and built through a 30-image focus stack at f/4—resulting in a sharp, dimensional subject and a soft, dreamy background.
This image is about patience, presence, and noticing the beauty we often walk past. “Awakening” reminds us that even the smallest moments carry light and energy when we stop to look.
