This is a selection of the photography gear I use and recommend—from cameras and lenses to the lighting equipment I use for my macro work. I’ll continue adding to this page as my setup evolves.

Macro Lighting

Lighting is a huge part of how I create my macro photographs. I use different lighting systems depending on the subject, but these are the tools I rely on most.

Adaptalux Flexible LED Lighting

My go-to system when I need precise control close to small subjects. The flexible lighting arms let me position and shape light exactly where I need it.

Tripods & Camera Support

A stable camera is essential to my macro photography, especially when focus stacking. I've been using Benro tripods for years, both in the studio and out in the forest, allowing me to focus less on my equipment and more on the creative process.

Photography Gloves

Whether I'm photographing outdoors in freezing temperatures or working on macro photography, gloves have become an important part of my gear. I've been using Vallerret gloves for years, not only to keep my hands warm but also to control unwanted light.

SPECIALIZED MACRO

For some projects, I use specialized Laowa lenses that let me explore macro photography in completely different ways.

The Laowa Aksen 5:1–10:1 takes me into extreme magnification, revealing details almost invisible to the naked eye, while the Laowa Probe Zoom gives me unique wide-angle macro perspectives that I use mostly for video and behind-the-scenes footage.
